The Robotics Revolution
Building a smarter future, one robot at a time.
About Our Team
We are Team 8927, a high school robotics team dedicated to the principles of STEM, teamwork, and innovation. We design, build, and program robots to compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition.

Our Mission
To inspire the next generation of engineers and innovators by fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and learning.
Our Values
Integrity, gracious professionalism, and hard work are at the core of everything we do. We believe in helping others and competing with respect.
Our History
Founded in 2020, our team has grown from a small group of students to a dedicated community, achieving success and recognition in regional competitions.
"The things that a lot of people are afraid of are opportunities."
- Dean Kamen, Founder of FIRST
The 2024 Robot
Introducing "Riptide", our competition robot for the 2024 season. Built to handle the challenges of this year's game, Riptide is a testament to our team's hard work and engineering skill.
- Autonomous Abilities: Capable of navigating the field and scoring points without human input.
- High-Powered Drivetrain: Fast and agile, with custom-designed swerve modules.
- Efficient Intake System: Can pick up game pieces with speed and precision.
- Modular Design: Built to be easily repaired and modified between matches.
Community Outreach
We are passionate about sharing our love for robotics with the community. We host workshops, mentor younger teams, and participate in local events.
Inspiring the Next Generation
- Running robotics workshops for local middle schools.
- Mentoring FLL teams and helping them prepare for competitions.
- Showcasing our robot at school and community fairs.
- Partnering with local businesses to promote STEM education.

Past Years
A look back at our previous robots and accomplishments from past competition seasons.
2023: "Volt"
Our 2023 robot, Volt, was designed for agility and precision. We successfully competed in two regional events, placing in the top 10 for both and winning the Innovation in Control Award.
2022: "Gearhead"
Gearhead was our powerful 2022 robot. It was built to excel at climbing and scoring, earning us a spot in the finals at the state championship. This year was pivotal for our team's growth.
2021: "Sparky"
Sparky was our very first competition robot! Despite the challenges of the season, Sparky's reliability and our team's strong rookie performance set the stage for our future success.
